JOSEPH KASA-VUBU
1st President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC) 1960-1965
The Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC) is first of all a date. 30th of june 1960 (Independance).
Since then,
La République Démocratique du Congo, c'est une date.
Le 30 juin 1960 (Indépendance).
Since then, much of water ran under the bridges.
We do not have any membership nor political engagement and our objective is only to remind his well filled life, because Joseph Kasa-Vubu was not avid of power.
He was a Statesman.
The young congolais, congolaises and all other young generations of the 21th century ignore the history of this Statesman, his social and economic actions about which one speaks never or almost never.
The testimonys collected since the birth of this site show us that they like the history, and that it is thus time to teach our children the true history and to correct it. Because finally, so far it is the only exemplary Statesman which the RD Congo knew from the integrity point of view. He was a man full with simplicity and of patience in front of spirits throw into disorder and overheated.
A man whose history swarms with anecdotes, of sometimes glorious facts, sometimes sad. An "enthralling" man, to discover or rediscover through this site. A man who day after day, to show through its saga enthralling the values (obstinacy, rigour, simplicity) of the MAN, the FATHER, the PRESIDENT, and a country (the Democratic Republic of Congo), and of its people, (of the women, men and children).
Humbly, with the authorization of the KASA-VUBU family for the use of the images and the photographs, without counting abundant documentation, we thus hope to contribute to pay a well deserved homage to Joseph KASA-VUBU, who will remain forever, no matter what one can say or make, a MAN, a FATHER, and the 1st First President of the Democratic Republic of Congo
(democratically elected).
